PLAYER PROFILE: Bryce Schwindt
Earned three letters each in football and track and field at Columbine … Two-time all-conference selection and was named to the All-State team as a senior … Holds the school’s lifting records in bench, squat and power clean for both juniors and seniors … Helped lead the Rebels to three straight conference championships from 2005-2007 as well as the 2006 state title.
“Bryce is one of my favorite recruits in this year’s class,” University of Northern Colorado head coach Scott Downing said. “He is a person of great character, most would say that he is a ‘coaches dream.’ He works hard, stays late and does what is asked. He wants to be a success both on and off the field.
“Many times coaches measure a young man by height, weight and strength numbers. I evaluated Bryce as a football player on video, and he was the most dominant lineman I saw this year. He is aggressive, strong and he finishes the play. We are so lucky that Northern Colorado was the right fit for he and his family. We are so proud that Bryce is representing our program on a national basis as a member of USA Football’s Junior National Team.”
