Earned 2008 All-Beach District First Team, All-Tidewater Second Team and All-Region Second Team honors … Set an Ocean Lakes H.S. record with 16 sacks in 2008 … Recorded 70 tackles, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries … Helped Ocean Lakes capture its first district title last year with a 12-1 overall record … Joins fellow high school teammate Shamarko Thomas on Team USA – both players will play for Syracuse in college.

“Brandon (Sharpe), Phillip (Thomas) and Shamarko (Thomas) all bring speed and toughness,” Syracuse University defensive coordinator Scott Shafer said of all three Team USA players from Syracuse. “They are athletic kids who are playmakers. USA Football’s Junior National Team will be proud to have them represent the program at the IFAF Junior World Championship.

“To have three of our incoming freshmen play for this team gives us an opportunity to have the future of Syracuse football represented and to showcase our future talent.”
