Back Home Again in Indiana

When I learned that the Team USA Road Tour would be heading to East Chicago, IN to interview Matthew Page, I was excited. I grew up in nearby Hammond, IN and was proud that “The Region” would be represented at the Junior World Championship. Page, 6′6, 300-lb offensive lineman has committed to play football at Ball State next season. We’ll be sitting down to interview Matthew this morning, then heading to Chicago to meet with a Team USA player and coach at Mt. Carmel High School.

In 2008, Ball State was ranked in the Top 25 and had a perfect 12-0 regular season. The Cardinals were upset in the 2008 MAC Championship Game against Buffalo and concluded their season with a loss to Tulsa in the 2009 GMAC Bowl to finish 12-2.

Having been on the road for almost three weeks now, it will be great to go home and get some of mom’s home-cooking, and some free laundry service. Matt and I have enjoyed meeting some of Team USA’s players, as well as coaches and look forward to another week on the road.
